The
Musée Héritage Museum is committed to
hosting and producing exhibitions that are unique, linked
to the community, interactive, and interesting to visitors
of all ages. The annual temporary exhibition program
at the Museum includes the hosting of approximately
three exhibitions brought in from other venues and one
exhibition curated and produced in-house.
Current Exhibitions:
The Musée Héritage Museum will be closed during the month of September for upgrades! The new exhibit, Patterns in Glass: Métis Design in Beads opens on September 28.
St. Albert: This Is Our Story
This permanent exhibit tells the story of St. Albert, from the beautiful natural setting that first attracted the aboriginal peoples and the Metis settlers, to the founding of the mission by Father Lacombe and the growth of the community.
Les Francophones en Alberta: Courage ét determination
Les Francophones en Alberta: Courage ét determination tells the story of the French in Alberta based on the holdings of the Provincial Archives of Alberta. The exhibit traces the history of the French Albertans through its association, both economic and cultural, its religious work, and its early pioneering work.
Discovery Room
The Discovery Room is a great place for children. The theme changes on a regular schedule and offers many opportunities for children to learn through the interactive displays.
Upcoming Exhibitions:
Patterns in Glass: Métis Design in Beads
September 28-June 2011
The design and creation of beadwork by Métis women will be higlighted in this exhibit. Beadwork from the museum's collection along with pieces from other collections will be on display. Illustrating the lives of the makers and the variety of designs used to decorate clothing and personal items.
Father Lacombe and Bishop Taché
July -December 2011
This exhibit will look at the two founders of the St. Albert Mission. By 1861, Lacombe and Taché had known each other for many years and these friends worked closely to establish the Catholic Church in western Canada.

St. Albert is home to many talented photographers. They take advantage of the amazing natural areas at our doorstep to create wonderful images. This exhibit showcases the work of three photographers from St. Albert. Visitors will be surprised and inspired by the variety of wildlife in our area.

Seeds in Disguise: The Biology and Lore of Ornamental Seeds
February 23 - May 16, 2010
Seeds are all around us: we eat them; we plant them; they parachute from dandelions; they catch in the dog's coat or on your socks; they drop from the trees; and sometimes they even hang around your neck. This exhibition featrures ornamental seeds "disguised" as beads in jewellery, trinkets and ornaments.
Seeds, like people, have many interesting facts to their complex biology. Travel, chemistry, medicine and industry are part of the stories of the ornamental seeds in this exhibition. Beware- some seeds are dangerous!
Love'em, Hate'em : Canadians and their Politicians
November 24, 2009 - February 14, 2010
This is a travelling exhibition produced by the Canadian Museum of Civilization that shows how public opinion is often shaped and expressed by the images of public personalities and by the styles of ppolitical leaders. The Musée Héritage Museum has added some local flavour with cartoons, campaign material and humorous items from local and provincial poiticians such as Richard Fowler, Anita Rachinsky, Nolan Crouse, Ralph Klein and Deborah Grey.
